A Semester in Review
Hi, everyone!
We have come to the end of the term, and I'm actually writing this during finals week. Unfortunately, this is my last post about Current Issues in Teaching.
I enjoyed this class just like last year's ICT and Material Design. It was a creative, different, and fun process. This class is not like our other classes, we are actually creating materials with technology. And I think exploring different ranges of tools, websites, apps that we can use while teaching was the best part of this course. I think we have learned tools and platforms that will be useful in the future in the classroom.
I think the most difficult things in this course were the tasks, not the making process, I think like this because we had a lot of tasks and they were time-consuming as well. But the end products are really nice and after we do it, we talk about how it gave us some certain improvements through the process of making it.
My favorite task was AR/VR teaching material since I think the students would enjoy that the most and it was the task I enjoyed preparing the most. My least favorite is the Corpus-based teaching material since it takes some time to understand and use Corpus and I think the students won't enjoy this task as much as they enjoy the others even though using Corpus in the classroom will be very useful.
For the students of next year, I believe that this course will improve you a lot as a teacher and be prepared to prepare a lot of tasks but don't be sad because they are really fun. I'm sure that this course will be one of your favorite classes and you will enjoy it a lot just like I did too.
I would like to thank Mustafa and Gökçe Hoca for this class because I believe this course really made an improvement in our professional development.
Thank you for being here and take care!
